Don't Try to Figure It Out By Yourself

Stop trying to figure things out on your own. God is a very present Help, according to Psalm 46:1. The problem is that people are so determined to leave God out. It's like saying, "God, you can come into the house, but don't come looking in my back rooms. Just stay in the foyer."

God is such a gentleman that He'll stay right there in the "foyer" of your life. He's not like your nosy friends who might say, "I wonder what they are hiding in the back rooms. I sure wish I could get a peek." The Lord is not like that. He'll honor your wishes to the point of allowing you to go to hell, if that's what you want.

Proverbs 3:5,6 speaks of trusting in the Lord with all of your heart. Don't lean on your own understanding. Acknowledge His presence and He'll show you how great a God He is. In other words, don't try to figure it all out, especially without God. Your ego may be that big, but not your brain.

Let God be God in your life and flow with Him. He's qualified to be God, not you, not me. I believe I'll let God help me now so He doesn't have to bail me out later.

  1. Do you have any other scriptures that I can meditate on that go along with the same topic of trusting the Lord and letting him guide your path? Where can I find the verse "trust by faith not by sight"? Thanks.

  2. 2 Cor. 5:7 says, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." Throughout the Psalms, the psalmists speak of putting trust in the Lord. As a result, certain "blessings" would follow. If you search the King James Bible for "trust", it is used 134 times. I'll just give a few examples.

Is. 26:3 says that God keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed on Him. When there is peace, it's easier to hear the voice of God in your heart. Thus the ability to receive His direction for your life.

Ps. 25:20 says God delivers us and keeps us from shame because we trust Him. He'll guide you in a path that's not shameful. He'll get you to your destination.

Ps. 37:3,5 says trust in the Lord and do good. As a result, we'll dwell in the land. The land or place that God has ordained for you to be. Therefore, verse 5 speaks of committing your way to Him and He'll bring it to pass.

Ps. 91:1,2 we can declare God is our Refuge and Fortress, particularly as we trust in Him.

Perhap one scripture reference to really keep in mind is that He said He would guide us with His eye, found in Ps. 32:8. It states He would instruct us and teach us the way we should go. His eye would guide us.

I trust that my response addressed your questions. Thanks for reading!!!
